Kestrel Grove is situated in Bushey Heath, a small Hertfordshire village 12 miles from central London with views over countryside and set in five acres of its own beautiful landscaped gardens. The principle mansion was formally headquarters of Fighter Command at Stanmore and has an impressive reception hall with ornate balustrades and a domed skylight. The home has been extended over the years with two modern wings designed in sympathy with the old architecture. Kestrel Grove was founded in 1966 and has been operated by the same family since opening. The emphasis is to provide high levels of care in a relaxed atmosphere where every possible need is catered for. Our excellent standards of Nursing and Personal Care promote a sense of well being with conscientious attention for each individual in a superb setting. 24 Hours Nursing Care is provided under the personal supervision of the Matron. There is a dedicated team of Registered General Nurses and Health Care Assistants to provide very high standards of care and comfort for our elderly and convalescent residents. Kestrel Grove is registered to provide care for 57 Residents with 32 Nursing and 25 Residential rooms. In the relaxed atmosphere of an elegant private home, every possible need is catered for. A modern well-equipped kitchen maintains high standards of cuisine and can cater for all dietary requirements. Public rooms include an elegant and spacious lounge, a sun lounge with conservatory both with television, video and satelite connections. There is also a large dinning room for those who prefer not to eat in their own accommodation. The majority of rooms have full en suite facilities and those upstairs, are serviced by either a passenger or a platform lift. All rooms have the latest intercom system and fire detection units installed. Residents may also have their own furniture if they wish subject to complying with the regulations. Pets are allowed subject to the Matrons discretion. During the summer months the gardens are complimented with garden furniture strategically placed in areas of natural beauty. There is a large Bar-B-Q area for residents families to use and for special days, weather permitting! Social Activities are arranged with a varied programme to suit everyone. Activities include regular concerts, drinks parties, movement to music, bingo and indoor games as well as special events throughout the year. Residents are encouraged to continue to participate in their own interests, however we strongly believe that each individual decides how they spend their time. There are no restrictions on visiting hours and everyone is welcome. All rooms have television, telephone points and the majority have satelite connections to Sky TV.
